我们都是老朋友了,何必那么客气呢?
We're all old friends, so why be so polite?
Explanation
难道 (“could it be that…, surely not…”)
“难道” is used in rhetorical questions to strengthen the rhetorical tone; the sentence often ends with “吗” or “不成”.
又 (“after all, it's not that…”)
“又” is used to emphasize negation (强调否定). Example: 这儿又不是你一个人,总得有个先来后到吧 (先来后到: arranging the order by who arrived earlier or later; meaning of the whole sentence: you're not the only one here; whoever comes first lines up first, and whoever comes later lines up later).
何必 (“why bother, no need to”)
not necessary, no need (不必,没有必要). Used in rhetorical questions.
何况 (“let alone, much less”)
“何况” uses a rhetorical tone to express a comparison that goes one step further (比较起来更进一层). It has the meaning "needless to say" (更不用说……) and is used at the beginning of the second clause.
